restaurant_menu Ingredientes

  • 1. 3 cups of heavy cream
  • 2. 1 and 1/2 cups of condensed milk
  • 3. 34 Oreo cookies (8 packages)
  • 4. 1 tbsp of unflavored gelatin (15 g)
  • 5. 5 tbsp of water

integration_instructions Instrucciones (Paso a Paso)

  1. We start by adding 3 cups of heavy cream to a bowl, in other countries it is also known as whipping cream.
  2. We also add 1 and a half cups of condensed milk.
  3. Mix very well until you get a homogeneous cream.
  4. Now we are going to dissolve our unflavored gelatin. If you don't know how to dissolve it, here's a tip: unflavored gelatin is dissolved in a 1:5 ratio, that is, for each part of gelatin, you should use 5 parts of water. For this recipe, I use one tablespoon of unflavored gelatin, which is about 15 grams, and I dissolve it in 5 tablespoons of hot water. I use this amount because I want to give this dessert just a little firmness but keep its texture very creamy. If, for example, you want it to be firmer and for the perfect square of dessert to come out like gelatin, you can add another tablespoon or up to a maximum of 3, but its texture will be more like gelatin than creamy, it's up to you. Mix the gelatin in the hot water until you get a homogeneous mixture. Here is another tip: when you add unflavored gelatin to a dessert, do not add it hot to avoid lumps.
  5. While our gelatin cools a bit, crush the Oreo cookies. I crushed them with my hands.
  6. Incorporate the unflavored gelatin that is already at room temperature and the cookies into the first mixture. I reserved a little to decorate on top.
  7. Transfer the entire mixture to your preferred mold and decorate on top with the cookies we reserved.
  8. Refrigerate for at least 4 to 5 hours, but the longer you leave it in the refrigerator, the better. I prefer to leave it overnight, and that's it, enjoy!

lightbulb Consejos y Trucos

  • Give it time to set in the fridge: Although it's a no-bake dessert, the cold is its best friend. Allow the dessert to set in the fridge ideally overnight. This allows the layers to settle, the flavors to blend, and the texture to reach its optimal creaminess.
  • DO NOT add too much unflavored gelatin if you want a creamy texture.

alt_route Variaciones

  • For a more adult and sophisticated version, you can dissolve a little instant coffee in the milk or add a tablespoon of liquor (like coffee liqueur, rum, or Irish cream) to the mixture.
  • Try with different flavored Oreos like double cream, mint, chocolate, peanut butter, or even limited editions to give a unique twist to the dessert.
